Day 1: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
It’s time to embark on an unforgettable journey through the heart of Uganda. Our day begins bright and early with a 7am pickup from your hotel in Kampala. As we hit the road, get ready to be captivated by the stunning Ugandan landscapes unfolding before your eyes.
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary: Tracking Wild White Rhinos
Our first stop is the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a haven for the magnificent white rhinoceros. Get ready for an exhilarating experience as we track these majestic creatures on foot. As we navigate through the sanctuary’s lush terrain, keep your eyes peeled for sightings of these incredible animals in their natural habitat. We will be guided by an experienced guide from the ZiWa Rhino Sanctuary, and you will have a guarantee of 99% to see these magnificent Rhino’s up close!
After an exciting morning of rhino tracking, we’ll refuel with a delicious lunch at Ziwa before continuing our journey to Murchison Falls National Park.
Murchison Falls National Park: Wildlife Encounters and Scenic Views
Arriving at Murchison Falls National Park in the late afternoon, we’ll settle into the basic but cozy Red Chilli Restcamp, our home away from home for the next couple of nights. After a hearty dinner, it’s off to bed early to rest up for the adventures that await us tomorrow.
Day 2: Exploring Murchison Falls National Park
Today is packed with thrilling wildlife encounters and breathtaking scenery as we delve deeper into Murchison Falls National Park.
Morning Game Drive and Breakfast at Hippo Pool
We’ll kick off the day with a packed breakfast at 6am before setting off on a 3-4 hour game drive through the park. Keep your cameras at the ready as we hope to spot the rest of the Big 5 roaming freely in their natural habitat. Our breakfast stop at the Hippo Pool offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a meal surrounded by the park’s stunning scenery.
Afternoon Adventure: Boat Cruise or another Game Drive.
After lunch and a well-deserved rest back at Red Chilli Restcamp, it’s time for more adventure! Choose between an exhilarating afternoon game drive or a leisurely boat cruise along the River Nile to the base of the Falls. Whilst on the boat, keep your eyes peeled for sightings of crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and a myriad of bird species as we soak in the beauty of this iconic African landscape.
Day 3: Farewell to Murchison Falls National Park
As our time in Murchison Falls National Park draws to a close, we’ll make the most of our final morning with one last game drive, starting at 6.15 am. After a packed breakfast in the park, we’ll visit the top of the Murchison Falls for a breathtaking view of the majestic waterfall.
Return to Kampala: Lunch at Hotel Masindi
With memories of our incredible wildlife encounters and scenic adventures fresh in our minds, it’s time to bid farewell to Murchison Falls National Park. We’ll head back to Kampala, stopping for lunch at Hotel Masindi, the oldest hotel in Uganda, for a taste of their excellent cuisine and a chance to reflect on our unforgettable journey.
As we arrive back in Kampala in the evening, take a moment to savor the memories and experiences of our adventure. From tracking rhinos to cruising along the Nile, our journey with Elgon Safaris Uganda has been nothing short of extraordinary.
